Profile

Fondazione Fiera Milano was established in January 2000 to support, promote and oversee the development of the exhibition system and to help Milan have a more modern and updated exhibition facility that would be on a par with large-scale exhibition centers around the world. One of its primary objectives is to provide the Fiera Milano Spa Group and Italy with a state-of-the-art exhibition infrastructure (link a pagina progetto fieramilano) that can compete with the major international exhibition centers.

It owns all the exhibition and congress-related assets of the Fiera Milano Group: the fair district, the hotels and offices in Rho-Pero, MiCo-Milano Congressi (link a pagina Mi-Co), the new congress center, Europe’s largest and built from the pavilions in Milan’s historic fairgrounds.

Fondazione Fiera Milano engages in nonprofit functions of general interest and in the promotion and development of trade exhibitions in Italy and abroad through the work of Gruppo Fiera Milano Spa. Fondazione operates in two areas through its main affiliated and controlled companies: Fiera Milano Spa for the management of the exhibition spaces and Sviluppo Sistema Fiera Srl in liquidation, for the redevelopment of local areas and infrastructures.

Since 2006, Fondazione has played a prominent role in the Expo 2015 Promoting Committee (link a correlata Expo 2015) in concert with institutions, leading to Milan’s winning of the bid.

Fondazione Fiera Milano supports the Fiera Milano Spa Group and companies in the exhibition industry through its Research Service (link a pagina studi), the Academy of Trade Fair Management (link pagina academia, and the Historical Archive (link a pagina Archivio).

Gianpiero C. Cantoni was the Chairman and CEO of Fondazione Fiera Milano from December 23, 2009, to May 9, 2012.
